Whitewater Kayaking |
|
Black Bear Cove plays host to two of the most diverse rivers in the South, the Hiwassee
and Ocoee. These two rivers support many different types of water sports including
tubing, canoeing, white water canoeing, kayaking, white water kayaking, and white
water rafting. |
 |
The Hiwassee River’s upper section sports class 1 and 2 rapids and is best paddled
with a whitewater canoe, fun yak, tube or kayak. Campers can land their craft on
the Black Bear Cove River Bank, and walk to their RV! The lower section of the Hiwassee
River is accessible right from the RV Park and is perfect for flat water paddling,
and also sports great fishing and bird watching.
The Ocoee River located a short distance from Black Bear Cove, sports the easy class
1 beginner rapids to the aggressive class 5 rapids for experts! Aggressive white
water kayaking lures the expert to the upper part of the river to the Olympic Whitewater
Park, or go white water rafting below the Olympic Park offered by one of several
outfitters on the River. |
 |
|
Parksville and Ocoee Lakes, just below the raging whitewater of the Ocoee River,
offers great flat water paddling for kayak’s and canoes, with beautiful scenery,
wildlife watching, a bear sanctuary, birding and fishing!

Also located a short driving distance from Black Bear Cove is the Tellico and Conasauga
Rivers. For additional details, call our vacation Specialist at 1-866-438-4399 for
